Will my insurance cover speech therapy?
It depends on the insurance plan. All insurance plans vary greatly. You should call your insurance company prior to your appointment and check with them. Be sure to mention the reason for your appointment (i.e. the problems you or your child is experiencing that would necessitate speech therapy).
HMO insurance plans and MaineCare managed care plans require a referral from your primary care physician. If you know you need a referral, please contact your PCP prior to your appointment and request a referral. Our fax number is 207-797-5560.
Will my insurance or MaineCare cover the cost of an AAC Device?
It depends on the insurance company and your plan. Almost all insurance companies and MaineCare require prior authorization to fund durable medical equipment and an AAC device is no exception. We will need certain paperwork from you to acquire that prior authorization. Please see our AAC page for a list of paperwork needed.
